June 14, 2019

These days, both men and women crave fuller-looking lips. Some celebrities have undergone lip enhancements and made the procedure the in name of beauty care. What is the standard procedure for lip enhancement? Should I go for lip implants or lip fillers? There are multiple lip plastic surgery techniques. All these things depend on whether you want a permanent or temporary lip enhancement.

Juvederm, which is a lip filler procedure, involves a few injections administered to enhance the look of the lip. Lip fillers can be classified under the semi-permanent solution. Lip augmentation implants such as Permalip implants are permanent lip augmentation solutions. These are solid but soft silicone implants in the shape of natural lip. Permalip implants are available in many sizes. Since the Permalip is not liquid but made of solid silicon, they do not rupture or leak.

Temporary Lip Filler Augmentation

Lip fillers are injected in the lower and upper lips. There are many types of lip fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm, Perlane, and Voluma. Lip filler augmentation is a simple in-office procedure. At the time of consultation, your doctor will examine your lips and facial balance. They will also take necessary photographs of the lips to understand the shape and symmetry of your lips. This will help your doctor to determine the area in your lips that need to be plumper and fuller.

For a temporary lip-augmentation solution, it is advisable to consider using Juvederm Ultra Plus, which has lidocaine that works as a numbing medication. Once your doctor has worked out where in your lips to inject the fillers, you are ready for the procedure to begin. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes for the procedure complete. It is a quick treatment that can be finished in your lunch break. Filler lip augmentation costs between $600 to $800 per syringe and its effects last about 6 to 8 months.

Permanent Lip Implant Augmentation

An alternative to this lip plastic surgery is permanent lip augmentation, which is also called Permalip. At the time of consultation, your doctor would examine what size of implant would be the best for your lips. The permanent lip implant is a simple in-office procedure. The first step involves sterilizing the surgical area. This is followed by anesthetization of your lips. When the lips are numbed, an incision is created at the corners of the mouth. The curved alligator clamp forms a tunnel-like shape in your lip. The lip tunnel closely follows the shape and form of the lip. When the alligator clamp has finished the making of the tunnel, its clamp opens up and grasps the implant into the tunnel. It gets positioned between the lip muscles and the lip fat. When the implants are placed perfectly, the incisions are sealed. It takes about 30 minutes for the procedure to complete. The cost of permanent lip implant enhancement is between $2,000 and $4,000.

Fat Transfer Method

Instead of these lip plastic surgery techniques, you can also use your tissue for lip enhancement. This procedure is called autologous lip-augmentation. Fat transfer is another kind of autologous lip enhancement. Like lip fillers, it is a simple in-office procedure and is performed with local anaesthesia. In fat transfer, fat is taken from the belly button area of the abdomen. It is purified before being transferred into the lips. The procedure of fat transfer takes about 60 to 90 minutes to complete. The patient can return home after 2 to 3 hours of the procedure. This type of lip augmentation with fat transfer stays good for 5 years or longer. The fat transfer procedure can cost between $3,000 and $6,000.

Skin Transfer Method

In yet another kind of autologous lip enhancement: in addition to fat, a portion of your skin or dermis is used for lip enhancement. In this procedure, skin is harvested from the sides of your stomach. Sometimes, skin harvested during other procedures can also be used for this method of lip augmentation. The skin is then resected and the top layer called the epidermis is removed. It is finally rolled into a cigarette-like shape and inserted into the lips. The procedure takes about 60- 90 minutes. This lip augmentation lasts for 5 years or more and costs between $3,000 and $6,000.

Lip augmentation offers instant results and your lips end up looking healthier and fuller. The procedures are simple and last from 20 to 90 minutes. You can return home on the same day once the procedure is complete.
